Re Trial of Nystatin to treat Meniere's/AIED/Migraine Associated Vertigo
نویسنده
چکیده
I was diagnosed several years ago with Meniere's disease. In 2009, it had progressed to the point where I was unable to function. I was ready to file for disability until serendipity led me to be treated with nystatin and systemic anti-fungal drugs. The anti-fungal drugs have brought about almost complete relief from my Meniere's and Migraine symptoms (documented with hearing tests). I have also found other members of menieres.org who saw an improvement of their Meniere's Disease when treated with anti-fungal medication.

Genetic loci and clinical features of familial episodic ataxias have been defined in linkage ...

OBJECTIVE To use modern high-resolution inner ear imaging modalities to evaluate for endolymphatic hydrops (EH) in a patient with migraine-associated fluctuating hearing loss without vertigo spells or dizziness. BACKGROUND EH has been well described in patients with Meniere's disease on both human temporal bone studies and modern high-resolution imaging; however, there is no study to date, to...
متن کاملInitial evaluation of vertigo.
Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, acute vestibular neuronitis, and Meniere's disease cause most cases of vertigo; however, family physicians must consider other causes including cerebrovascular disease, migraine, psychological disease, perilymphatic fistulas, multiple sclerosis, and intracranial neoplasms. Once it is determined that a patient has vertigo, the next task is to determine wheth...
متن کاملMeniere's disease. A stepwise approach
M énière’s disease is characterised by recurrent attacks of vertigo accompanied by fluctuating sensorineural hearing loss, tinnitus and a sense of aural fullness. Prosper Ménière in 1861 correctly attributed the attacks to a disorder of the inner ear, suggesting that the mechanism of causation could be similar to migraine or inner ear vasospasm, a differential diagnosis which is still relevant ...
